Jada’s Kitchen operates this website and sells digital recipe downloads. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep it short and plain because you should actually be able to read it.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, billing address, and the details of what you bought. We need this to deliver your download, send your receipt, and keep proper records.
Payment information: card details are entered directly into a secure form hosted by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We only receive confirmation that payment succeeded, along with the card type and last four digits.
If you join our email list: your email address, and nothing more.
Automatically: like most websites, our server logs basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type, and which pages you viewed. We use this for security and to understand which recipes people like.
If you leave a comment: the name, email address, and message you submit, plus your IP address and browser string, which help us catch spam.
Cookies
We use cookies for the things the site needs to function — keeping items in your cart, remembering that you’re signed in, and completing your order. If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name and email in a cookie so you don’t have to type them again.
How we use your information
- Deliver the recipes you purchased
- Send order confirmations and download links
- Answer your questions and provide support
- Send marketing emails — only if you asked for them
- Detect fraud and keep the site secure
- Meet our tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone beyond the service providers listed below.
Who we share it with
Stripe processes payments on our behalf. Our web host and email provider keep the site running and deliver your messages. Each of them receives only what they need to do their job, and each is required to protect it.
How long we keep it
Order records are retained as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally seven years. Email list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments are kept indefinitely unless you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You can ask us to send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that’s wrong, or delete your data. We’ll honour deletion requests except where we’re legally required to retain order records. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA — including the right to opt out of the sale of personal information, which is easy for us since we don’t sell it.
Marketing emails
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click is all it takes. Order confirmations and download links aren’t marketing, so you’ll always receive those when you buy something.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top of this page.
